Mr. Platt (“Russell”) joined Dermot’s Board in 2015, when his firm made its first investment in Dermot. Russell Platt is co-founder, Chief Executive Officer and principal shareholder of Forum Partners Mr. Platt has enjoyed a 40-year career in real estate finance and investment. He began his career at Morgan Stanley & Co., where he was an early member of that firm’s real estate finance and investment team. He founded and managed the global real estate department of Morgan Stanley Asset Management, which managed over $2 billion in private real estate and listed real estate securities worldwide, on behalf of institutional and individual investors and served as a Director of the Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds. Immediately prior to starting Forum, he served as Managing Director of Security Capital Research & Management, where he handled the firm’s private equity and international investment businesses and, before that, he was a President of JER Partners – International. Mr. Platt earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics with Honors from Williams College, magna cum laude, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a member of various real estate industry associations and has, for the past five years, served as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia Business School, with a focus on leadership in the real estate industry. Mr. Platt is a member of the Board of Trustees of World Monuments Fund, specializing in the conservation of the world’s irreplaceable treasure – architectural and culture sites that span the history of human civilization.
